What we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do about it.

Who we are

TradeShow Event Directory (tradeshoweventdirectory.com) is published by Agency Promo Group, trading as APG Exhibits, of North Barrington, Illinois. Agency Promo Group is the data controller for the information described here. You can reach us at hello@tradeshoweventdirectory.com or through the contact form.

What we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact form. Your name, email address and the message you write. We store these so we can answer you and keep a record of the thread.
  • Quote requests. If you ask for a booth quote, the contact and project details you enter on the form. These go to APG Exhibits’ sales team so they can respond.
  • Listing submissions and corrections. Whatever you send us about a show, including any contact details you include so we can follow up.

We do not ask for and do not want special-category personal data. Please do not send it to us in a free-text field.

Information collected automatically

  • On-site usage events. We record which listings, venue pages, provider profiles and ad units are viewed and clicked, so we know which parts of the directory earn their place. Each event stores the page, the item, a same-site referrer, a timestamp and a truncated IP address with the final octet zeroed (for example 203.0.113.0). We do not store full IP addresses for analytics and we do not build a profile of an individual visitor from them.
  • Google Analytics. Aggregate traffic measurement — pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser, and how you arrived. Google processes this on our behalf.
  • Server and security logs. Our hosting provider records requests for reliability and abuse prevention.

If you have an account

Accounts exist only for staff who maintain the directory. If you have one, we store your email address and authentication session. There are no public user accounts.

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies and similar storage for three things:

  • Necessary. Keeping a signed-in staff session and protecting forms from abuse. The site does not work without these.
  • Analytics. Google Analytics, to understand traffic in aggregate.
  • Advertising. Third-party ad cookies, described below.

Third-party advertising

This site displays advertising, including through Google AdSense. You should know that:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info/choices or the NAI opt-out page.
  • Where required by law, personalised advertising and analytics cookies are set only after consent, and you can withdraw consent at any time.

More detail is available in Google’s policy on how it uses data from sites that use its services.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract:

  • Vercel — website hosting and delivery
  • Supabase — database and authentication
  • Google — Analytics, AdSense advertising, and Maps
  • Resend — transactional email delivery
  • Anthropic — the AI system used to draft show summaries. Only publicly available show information is sent; visitor personal data is not.

Quote requests are shared internally with APG Exhibits’ sales team, which is the point of the form. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Some of these providers process data in the United States. Where personal data moves out of the UK or EEA, transfers rely on the UK Addendum and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Contact messages and quote requests — up to three years from our last exchange, so we have the history of a conversation.
  • On-site usage events — up to 26 months in truncated form.
  • Google Analytics — per the retention set in that product, currently 14 months.
  • Server logs — typically 30 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, receive it in a portable format, or withdraw consent.

California residents additionally have the right to know what is collected and to opt out of “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of advertising cookies, use the opt-out links in the Cookies and advertising section, or a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honour.

To exercise any of these, email hello@tradeshoweventdirectory.com. We respond within one month. If you are in the UK or EEA and are unhappy with our response, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Children

This is a business-to-business site. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. Material changes will be flagged on the site itself rather than made quietly.
