IDUG | International DB2 Users Group 2026

Oct
26

IDUG NA 2026 is the North America **Db2 Tech Conference** hosted by the International Db2 Users Group, a not-for-profit, user-run organization dedicated to Db2 education. The event runs Monday, October 26 through Thursday, October 29, 2026, at the Signia by Hilton Atlanta / Georgia World Congress Center. A notable feature of the 2026 edition is that IDUG NA will be co-located with IBM TechXchange, and a single IDUG NA registration provides full access to both events. The conference is built for **Db2 professionals** across both z/OS and LUW (Linux, UNIX, and Windows) platforms — database administrators, developers, architects, data engineers, and IT managers. Technical sessions are organized by theme, allowing attendees to build a custom agenda around their top areas of interest, spanning topics such as AI and machine learning, cloud and data lakes, performance and troubleshooting, security and governance, and SQL and application modernization. Beyond sessions, attendees benefit from expert panels, hands-on labs, an Essentials track for fundamentals, complimentary certification exams, and networking with peers and vendors. Each year IDUG organizes conferences worldwide to support and strengthen the information services community, featuring expert keynote speakers and top professionals leading highly targeted sessions.

About this venue

The event is hosted at the Signia by Hilton Atlanta, the flagship hotel connected to the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC) in downtown Atlanta. The 976-room Signia by Hilton Atlanta opened in 2024 as the first new-build Georgia hotel for the Signia by Hilton brand and Atlanta's largest ground-up hotel. Connected to the Georgia World Congress Center, the hotel features 976 rooms and more than 100,000 sq. ft of flexible, modern venue space for conferences and events. Guests have direct access to the Georgia World Congress Center via a pedestrian walkway, providing prime access to GWCC's Georgia ballroom and breakout rooms.

The adjoining GWCC is a major convention complex. The Georgia World Congress Center is the fourth-largest convention center in the United States and includes 12 exhibit halls with 1.4 million square feet of prime space, 100+ meeting rooms, 2 ballrooms, 3 fixed-seat auditoriums, and two grand landscaped plazas. The Signia also offers eight restaurants and bars, a wellness spa, an outdoor pool, and the elevated Club Signia experience.

Parking

Parking is available across the Georgia World Congress Center campus. The GWCC offers over 6,500 parking spaces across its campus, including multiple parking decks and lots such as the Yellow Lot, Red Deck, and Orange Deck. Rates vary depending on the location, cashless payment options are available, and you can pre-purchase parking for added convenience. The GWCC has seven on-campus parking lots, including a marshaling yard for trucks, trailers, and RVs. Because the venue sits near other large venues, parking can be scarce when multiple events are occurring on the same day, so reserving ahead is recommended.

Getting there

By air: The Georgia World Congress Center is 11 miles from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).

By rail/public transit: Several public transportation options are readily available, including MARTA rail service from ATL. The SEC District Station serves GWCC (recently renamed from Dome/GWCC/CNN Center Station) and sits on the Blue and Green Lines. From the airport, take the Red or Gold Line to Five Points, then transfer west to SEC District Station.

Rideshare & driving: Uber and Lyft service the area, and the venue is directly off Atlanta's major interstates. The GWCC is directly off two major Atlanta interstates via the Williams Street or Andrew Young International Blvd exits.

Nearby hotels

The Signia by Hilton Atlanta is the on-site headquarters hotel, connected directly to the venue. Other nearby options in the Centennial Park District include:

  • Omni Atlanta Hotel at Centennial Park — 0.1 miles from GWCC, directly connected to the convention center via an indoor walkway.
  • Embassy Suites by Hilton Atlanta at Centennial Olympic Park — the next closest at 0.2 miles, under a 5-minute walk from the GWCC main entrance.
  • Additional walkable downtown hotels include the Hilton Garden Inn Atlanta Downtown, Hyatt Place Atlanta Centennial Park, SpringHill Suites Atlanta Downtown, Moxy Atlanta Downtown, and The Westin Peachtree Plaza. These hotels are within roughly 0.4 miles of the venue.

Convention-city hotels in Atlanta can double their rates or more during major event weeks, so booking early is advised.
