Abilities Expo - Southern California 2027

Attendance figures specific to the Long Beach edition are not published by the organizer. Across its full U.S. series, Abilities Expo attracts more than 30,000 annual attendees who are people with disabilities, caregivers, families, service providers, and industry experts. The audience spans people with more than 50 types of disabilities — as well as their families, friends, caregivers and medical professionals.

Admission is free, but attendees are asked to register in advance online.

1. Visit the official Los Angeles registration page at abilities.com/los-angeles/register.
2. Attendees ages 18 and over should complete the form for free admission. Individuals under 18-years-old are not required to register.
3. Any adult in your household can come into Abilities Expo as your guest. If you are accompanied by adults who do not reside with you, they should register separately.
4. On arrival, if you have pre-registered, proceed to the registration desk for check-in. If you have the text message you received the morning of the expo or your confirmation email, you will receive a wristband.

To sign up a large group or if you have difficulty registering, email the organizer. A Spanish-language registration page is also available. Professionals in the complex rehab technology industry can separately register for the co-located Abilities International Accessibility Conference.

Established in 1979 in Los Angeles, Abilities Expos were started as a way to provide information, support and engagement for people with disabilities all under one roof. The first show was launched at the L.A. Convention Center in 1979 by its founder, a wheelchair user who had a vision for a disability event.

Over the following decades the show changed hands several times and expanded into a nationwide series. Founded in 1979, the Abilities Expo, a business-to-consumer (B2C) show held in seven major cities across the U.S., has long been a cornerstone for the disability community. Since its acquisition by UK-based Raccoon Media Group in January 2024, the expo has experienced steady growth, with marked increases in revenue, exhibitors, and attendee satisfaction.

A recent milestone: 2026 marked a major strategic evolution with the launch of the Abilities International Accessibility Conferences, introducing a robust B2B component that bridges the gap between industry leaders, researchers, and users to drive global accessibility standards.
