According to the AEA, attendees represent more than 25 countries and include approved maintenance organizations, corporate flight departments, academics, regulatory agencies, delegates and press. Third-party event listings estimate roughly 2,200 attendees for the convention, though the AEA does not publish an official attendance figure on its site. The 2026 edition listed more than 130 exhibiting companies.

Registration is handled online through the official AEA Convention website via the "Register Now" attendee form at aea.net. Attendees can register for the full convention, which provides access to the exhibit hall, training sessions and networking events.

For the 2026 edition, cancellation and refund requests had to be submitted by email to convention@aea.net, with refunds processed less a $75 administrative fee; comparable deadlines are typically announced for each year's event. Prospective attendees should check the official site for the 2027 registration deadlines and pricing.

The Aircraft Electronics Association was founded in 1957, and the International Convention & Trade Show has been held annually since then. The 2026 edition in Dallas was the 69th annual convention, making the 2027 event in Savannah the 70th annual AEA International Convention & Trade Show. The convention rotates among U.S. host cities each year. Today the AEA represents nearly 1,300 member companies in more than 40 countries, and the convention has grown into the world's largest gathering dedicated to general aviation avionics.
