American Physical Society - APS 2027

APS reports that the Global Physics Summit unites approximately 14,000 scientists from across all disciplines of physics, making it the organizer's largest physics research conference. Over 10,000 physics research abstracts are submitted each year to the Global Physics Summit, ranging from quantum physics to soft condensed matter and from astrophysics to gravitational waves. The broader APS community numbers around 50,000 physicists worldwide.

The 2027 Global Physics Summit offers both in-person and virtual registration options. Registration is open online, and all presenters must register to attend. Note that APS membership is required to submit an abstract and register, and a Full membership plan is needed to receive discounted meeting rates.

Rates rise in three phases:

1. Early bird: Sept. 9, 2026 – Feb. 25, 2027 (e.g., regular Full-plan member $699 in-person, $460 virtual; non-member $1,029 in-person).
2. Regular: Feb. 26 – Apr. 1, 2027 (e.g., regular Full-plan member $849 in-person; non-member $1,190 in-person).
3. Late: Apr. 2, 2027 – on-site (e.g., regular Full-plan member $999 in-person; non-member $1,365 in-person).

Discounted rates are available for early-career, retired, graduate, and undergraduate members. Scientists living in less-resourced countries benefit from nearly a 90% registration discount to minimize the financial barrier to attendance. Complimentary press registration is available for eligible media. Cancellations must be received in writing by Apr. 2, 2027. All cancellations will be assessed a $50 cancellation fee regardless of the reason for cancellation.

The Global Physics Summit is organized by the American Physical Society (APS), which is marking its first 125 years as a society. The Summit format unites what were previously separate APS meetings into a single large annual gathering spanning all physics disciplines. APS describes the meeting as the world's largest annual gathering of the physics community, drawing roughly 14,000 scientists. The 2027 meeting in Atlanta carries the theme "Physics Sparks Connection."
