American Public Health Association - APHA 2026

APHA's Annual Meeting and Expo convenes approximately 11,000 public health professionals and partners from around the world. Some APHA materials describe the gathering as convening approximately 12,000 attendees. APHA hosts the largest gathering of public health professionals in the world at its annual meeting and exhibition.

Registration and housing are open, and fees are tiered by date and by APHA membership category. Registration fees are based on your membership category, and becoming a member can save you money during the registration process.

In-person member rates for APHA 2026 include:

• Regular and Agency Individual member: $695 (Early), $770 (Advance), $870 (Late), $880 (Onsite)
• Agency member: $795 (Early), $870 (Advance), $970 (Late), $980 (Onsite)
• Discounted Regular, Retired and Early-Career Professional: $445 (Early), $520 (Advance), $620 (Late), $630 (Onsite)
• Student: $295 across Early, Advance, Late and Onsite
• Non-member: $1,025 (Early), $1,100 (Advance), $1,200 (Late), $1,210 (Onsite)

Key deadlines: Register by the Sept. 15 Advance deadline to secure the most affordable rates, as prices increase Sept. 16. The rate periods run Early (June 2-July 14), Advance (July 15-Sept. 15), Late (Sept. 16-Oct. 29) and Onsite (Oct. 30-Nov. 4).

A Digital Meeting option is also available: $300 for Regular and Agency Individual members, $150 for discounted/student registrants, and $400 for non-members. Both in-person and digital registrants have access to the digital content, and meals are not included in the registration fee. Register online through APHA at secure.apha.org.

The American Public Health Association was founded in 1872 at a time when scientific advances were helping to reveal the causes of communicable diseases. It was founded by a group of physicians, including Stephen Smith and Henry Hartshorne. Founded in 1872, APHA is the oldest and largest organization of public health professionals in the world.

The Annual Meeting has been central to the association's work for well over a century, serving as a stage for landmark public health moments. In 1900, Walter Reed reported at the APHA Annual Meeting that mosquitoes carry yellow fever. In 1918, APHA postponed its Annual Meeting in reaction to a global influenza pandemic, and the association conducted scheduled discussions regarding the pandemic in December 1918. APHA has been involved in every major significant public health program of the last 150 years.
