Anesthesiology - American Society of Anesthesiologists - ASA 2026

The ASA reports that the annual meeting connects more than 14,000 global anesthesia professionals. The audience is composed of physician anesthesiologists, residents, fellows, medical students, anesthesia care-team members and industry representatives.

Registration is completed online through the ASA's official registration portal. Rates vary by membership status, category and how early you register, with three pricing windows: an Early Bird Rate (through Aug 18), an Advanced Rate (Aug 19-Oct 15), and an On-site Rate (Oct 16-20).

Selected 2026 member rates:

• Member (Active/Affiliate/Educational): $699 early bird, $949 advanced, $1,099 on-site.
• Member Resident: $299 at all tiers.
• Medical Student: $149 at all tiers.

Selected 2026 nonmember rates:

• Nonmember: $2,099 early bird, $2,399 advanced, $2,599 on-site.
• Nonmember Resident: $359 early bird, then $559.

Guest registration is also available. Guest registration is $125 per guest and is reserved for friends and family of attendees who are not professionally involved in anesthesiology or a related industry. Note the cancellation policy: the cancellation deadline is Friday, September 18, 2026, and requests received on or before that date are refunded, though a 20% cancellation fee applies.

The American Society of Anesthesiologists traces its roots to 1905. The society's history begins in 1905, when nine young physicians from Brooklyn, NY met at Long Island College Hospital to start a society of physician anesthetists. In 1911 the Society expanded to 23 members and became the New York Society of Anesthetists; over the next 25 years it attracted physicians nationwide; in 1936 it changed its name to the American Society of Anesthetists; and in 1945 it became the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). The House of Delegates meets each year during the Society's Annual Meeting. Today the ASA is a large professional society; founded in 1905, it is an educational, research and scientific society with more than 52,000 members organized to raise and maintain the standards of the medical practice of anesthesiology. The annual meeting has grown into the specialty's premier gathering, now drawing more than 14,000 professionals each year.
