The Association for Vascular Access was founded in 1985 to support and promote the specialty of vascular access. Its multidisciplinary membership advances research, provides professional and public education to shape practice and enhance patient outcomes, and partners with the device manufacturing community to bring about evidence-based innovations in vascular access. The 2026 event marks the 40th Annual AVA Scientific Meeting. Recent meetings have been held in cities including Las Vegas, and the 2026 milestone edition moves to Grapevine, Texas.

The 40th Annual AVA Scientific Meeting takes place October 2-4, 2026, with Pre-Meeting Workshops on October 1. It is held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.
The meeting is designed for the multidisciplinary vascular access community, including nurses, physicians, radiologists, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, researchers, educators, and industry representatives. Attendees come from specialties such as interventional radiology, pediatrics, oncology, nephrology, infectious disease, anesthesiology, and surgery.

The Gaylord Texan is about 5-6 miles from Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), roughly a six-minute drive, with shuttle and car service available. On-site self-parking is $25 plus tax and valet parking is $45 plus tax, subject to change.
