CECU (Career Education Colleges and Universities) is the national association representing private, postsecondary trade schools and career colleges, and it hosts the Convention as its flagship annual event. The Career Education Convention brings together sector leaders and industry experts in one space. Held in June, the Convention is the largest gathering of post secondary career education professionals nationwide. The association's slate of member events carries deep roots — the Leadership Institute was established to further educate and develop emerging campus leaders. With over 40 years of history, it is the longest standing sector event. In recent years the Convention has rotated through host cities including Kansas City (2023), Indianapolis (2024), and Las Vegas (2025), expanding to a North American focus through CECU's partnership with the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC).
