<cite index="5-6,5-7">Colorado Garden Show, Inc., doing business as the Colorado Garden Foundation, was formed in 1958 by a group of individuals to raise funds for the Denver Botanic Gardens; to raise those funds they started the Colorado Garden Show, which is now the Colorado Garden & Home Show.</cite> The event was the 64th annual edition in 2023, making it one of the longest-running shows of its kind in the region.
<cite index="5-3">To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $13 million for horticultural projects and scholarships throughout the state.</cite> <cite index="7-4,7-5,7-6">In 2025 the Foundation sold the show to Marketplace Events; Executive Director Jim Fricke said joining forces would let the organization build on a legacy that, over more than 65 years, gave back more than $13 million through horticultural grants and scholarships.</cite> The first Marketplace Events–produced edition took place in February 2026.
