When and where is IEEE ECCE 2026 taking place?

Attendance

ECCE has grown steadily since its founding. The inaugural 2009 conference in San Jose drew over 800 attendees from 40 countries. By 2015, ECCE reached a record-setting attendance of over 1,500 engineers, researchers, students, business managers, and policy makers. The audience is international and spans academia, industry, and government, including practicing engineers, researchers, and students.

Registration

Registration for ECCE 2026 is open and can be completed online. Conference fees are quoted in USD, with discounted advance rates available before the deadline.

Advance (early) rates apply before August 21st; regular rates apply after August 21st.
Full conference registration ranges from $1,025 (IAS/PELS Society Member, advance) to $1,460 (Non-Member, regular), with reduced student and IEEE Life Member rates.
Joint ECCE & IAS Annual Meeting registration and one-day registration (onsite only) are also offered.
Expo Hall entry for Monday and Tuesday is $0 and includes the Monday reception, Tuesday lunch, and coffee/snack.
Extra event tickets: Welcome Reception ($60), Networking Dinner ($120), Awards Lunch ($70), or a Full Guest Registration ($250).

Cancellation policy: Cancellations must be made in writing by email. Those received on or before August 12, 2026 receive a full refund minus a $150 fee; between August 13 and September 4, 2026 a full refund minus a $350 fee; and after September 4, 2026 are not eligible for a refund. Substitutions for paid registrants may be made at any time without penalty.

History

ECCE was first held in 2009, when it combined the IEEE Power Electronics Society's Power Electronics Specialists Conference (PESC) with the Industrial Power Conversion Systems Department of the IEEE IAS Annual Meeting. The inaugural edition opened in San Jose, California, September 20–24, 2009. That first conference drew over 800 attendees from 40 countries, and featured over 600 papers across 88 oral presentation sessions and 16 poster sessions. Since its first meeting in 2009, ECCE has grown steadily in the scope, quality, and number of technical papers, attendance, and industry involvement, reaching a record attendance of over 1,500 in 2015. The annual congress has rotated among major North American cities, including Baltimore, Detroit, Nashville, and now Vancouver for 2026.
