The Salt Palace Convention Center is located in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. It boasts nearly a million square feet of meeting rooms, ballrooms, exhibit halls, and open space. The facility offers 515,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit hall space divisible into 9 halls, 164,000 square feet of meeting space (14 separate rooms that can be divided into at least 70 different spaces), a 45,000-square-foot Grand Ballroom divisible into 10 smaller rooms, several foyers that can accommodate receptions, 1,000 underground parking stalls, and 40 loading docks. Adjoined to the facility are the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art and Abravanel Hall, home of the Utah Symphony.
The Salt Palace Convention Center has 1,000 underground parking stalls. When attending an event, give yourself plenty of time to park and reach your event, as the facility takes up several square blocks and there may be some walking involved. Additional paid parking garages and lots are available throughout downtown near the venue; note that overnight parking is not allowed at the convention center location.
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is the nearest major airport, roughly 6-7 miles from downtown. Attendees can use the venue map to select the best TRAX light-rail stop or determine which parking garage is most convenient. The TRAX light-rail system connects the airport directly to downtown and stops near the Salt Palace, and rideshare, taxi, and walking are all practical given the venue's central downtown location surrounded by hotels and restaurants.
The venue is exceptionally well served by downtown hotels. The convention center is within walking distance of more than 7,000 hotel rooms, 200+ restaurants, cafes and nightspots, and numerous arts, cultural, and entertainment venues. Downtown options within walking distance or a short ride include the Hampton Inn Salt Lake City-Downtown, DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Salt Lake City Downtown, Courtyard Salt Lake City Downtown, and Holiday Inn Express, among others. The event typically secures a discounted room block through its official housing partner (Connections Housing); book through official channels to avoid unauthorized housing resellers.
