About This Show
AI-drafted summaryThe NAPE Summit (North American Prospect Expo) is the energy industry's premier marketplace for the buying, selling and trading of prospects and producing properties. NAPE brings together all industry disciplines, draws in decision-makers, focuses its participation on prospect generators, and hosts companies of all sizes, from small independents to majors, and with the addition of critical minerals, data centers, geothermal, minerals and non-operating, bitcoin mining and renewable energy sources to its oil and gas offerings, NAPE is a leading venue for energy deals.
The Summit draws a diverse, global audience. Attendees can engage with professionals from various fields, including ambassadors, lease negotiators, and geologists, all under one roof. International prospects and exhibits are integrated alongside domestic prospects on the NAPE show floor, giving attendees easy access to deal making opportunities from around the world, and the NAPE Energy Business Conference features speakers and presentations highlighting international topics and worldwide energy industry forecasts.
It is worth attending because there is no other trade show in the industry that replicates this combination or its track record of success — deals are made at NAPE Expo because it attracts all the parties necessary to evaluate, fund and make deals.

History
In 1993, a group of trailblazing landmen formed a think tank for AAPL called the Issues Management Council, and in looking for innovative ways to serve the industry they developed an idea called the North American Prospect Expo — now simply known as NAPE. Founded in 1993 by AAPL — with partners IPAA, SEG and AAPG added over the next several years — NAPE Expo has become the largest exhibition of its kind in the world.
The site of the first NAPE was Houston, Texas, and it has been held there ever since, with an initial attendance of 800 to more than 12,000 today, making it the world's largest international marketplace for the upstream energy business. Notable milestones include the introduction of the Renewable Energy Hub in 2021, and the marking of 30 years of making deals happen with the launch of the NAPE Hall of Fame, alongside expansion of the Renewable Energy and Bitcoin Mining pavilions into hubs and the introduction of the Minerals & NonOp Hub.
