Rose City Comic Con 2026

Rose City Comic Con has grown dramatically since its debut. The inaugural 2012 event drew a little over 4,000 attendees; the second year, after moving to the Oregon Convention Center, attracted about 18,000, and by the fourth convention attendance reached roughly 32,000. According to Wikipedia, attendance reached approximately 70,000 in 2019. The event serves an all-ages audience of comic fans, cosplayers, gamers, families, movie and TV buffs, and bookworms.

Badges are purchased online through the official ticketing partner (Leap) or on-site at Registration, though badges that sell out online will not be available on-site. Badge types include:

• 3 Day Badge — $105
• Friday — $58
• Saturday — $73
• Sunday — $68
• Child (ages 3–12, 3-day) — $17
• Family (2 adult + 2 child, 3-day) — $215
• Premium (3-day) — $159
• Fast Pass (3-day) — $317
• Club Rose Membership (3-day, limited to 30) — $800

All badge tiers add an 8% service fee (on-site prices are inclusive of the fee). Key deadlines for the 2026 show:

• July 17 — last day to buy badges/merch with mail-home shipping
• July 24 — local retailer badge pickup begins
• August 23 — last day to buy badges at Standard pricing
• September 9 — last day to purchase Club Rose, Fast Pass, and Premium badges and to pre-order merch

All attendees ages 3 and up need a badge; children 2 and under are free. Active military, reservists, and guard personnel can receive $5 off with valid ID. All badge sales are final and non-refundable, but badges are 100% transferable and can be upgraded or swapped through the Leap account portal.

Rose City Comic Con was founded by Ron Brister and his partner Paula Brister, conceived during a July 2011 road trip to San Diego Comic-Con, out of a belief that Portland was missing an event with the same charm as San Diego and the region's Emerald City Comic Con. The inaugural convention was held September 8–9, 2012, at the Lloyd Center DoubleTree Hotel with a budget of less than $20,000, drawing a little over 4,000 attendees. The following year it moved to the Oregon Convention Center, where it has been held ever since, and attendance climbed to roughly 18,000, then about 32,000 by the fourth year, and around 70,000 by 2019. In February 2017, the founders sold a majority stake to LeftField Media, a company formed by former ReedPop executives; RCCC is now part of the Clarion Events family alongside Awesome Con, Anime NYC, and Anime Frontier.
