Texas Music Educators Assocation - TMEA Clinic/Convention 2027

Nearly 30,000 attendees gather each year for the TMEA Clinic/Convention, making it one of the largest music education events in the nation. According to the exhibitor materials, the audience includes nearly 30,000 music educators, students, and industry professionals. TMEA reports the community includes more than 14,000 active music educators and over 1,800 college music students among attendees.

TMEA does not publish a flat booth price on its public pages; rates vary by booth type, size, and zone. To reserve booth space at the TMEA Clinic/Convention, a Sustaining Membership ($75) is required to exhibit. Exhibitors choose their booth type and size, and all booth sizes are available in all zones.

For college and higher-education exhibits, pricing structures differ. Located in Exhibit Hall 4, all college booths are 10' x 10' corner booths arranged in islands, and each booth includes 8' high back drapes, 3' side drape, one 8' undraped table, two chairs, and a sign with the school name at no additional charge. Each Texas institution must become an Institutional Member of TMEA, with $55 dues added to the booth application. TMEA members and out-of-state music attendees can register online in advance using a debit, credit, or purchasing card, or pay by check or purchase order. All other attendees—family of performers, visitors, and students—purchase badges onsite.

Registration fee tiers:

• Active Member: $70 early registration ($95 after Jan 21); access to all clinics, performances, and the exhibit hall, and eligible to earn CPE credit.
• Retired Member: $20 registration fee.
• College Student: Free registration for current TMEA College Student members.
• Out-of-State Attendees: $145 early registration ($170 after Jan 21); TMEA membership not required.
• Family badges: $15 each; free for children 11 and under if present at registration.

Deadline: You must register online by January 21 or mail a check postmarked by January 21 to pay the early registration fee; registrations after this deadline, including onsite, incur the higher fee. TMEA also offers complimentary registration to upper-level administrators, including principals, superintendents, and school board members.

The Texas Music Educators Association is a long-established organization; founded in 1920, TMEA has evolved from a small regional gathering into a national model for comprehensive music education conventions. Today the annual Clinic/Convention is held each February in San Antonio and has grown into one of the largest music education events in the nation, drawing nearly 30,000 attendees.

The convention has a confirmed run of future dates in San Antonio at the Henry B. González Convention Center, including February 10-13, 2027; February 9-12, 2028; February 7-10, 2029; February 13-16, 2030; February 12-15, 2031; and February 11-14, 2032.
