IDS Vancouver launched in 2004 under the original name Design Vancouver, created to address a gap in the West Coast design market and provide a forum for design-forward products and services for both consumers and trade professionals. The show was purchased in early 2007 by Chicago-based Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. (MMPI), and then in 2012 by Informa Canada, one of the world's leading trade and consumer show producers. It was subsequently re-branded (formerly known as IDSwest) as the Interior Design Show Vancouver, the West Coast counterpart to the established Interior Design Show Toronto. The association broadened the exhibitor base, special features, speaker program, and trade-only times, and the show has continued to grow in size, importance, and reputation as western North America's largest design event.
IDS Vancouver 2026 runs September 24–27, 2026, at the Vancouver Convention Centre West, located at 1055 Canada Pl, Vancouver, BC. It opens with an Opening Night Party on September 24 (7–10pm), followed by trade and public show days.
Trade days are geared toward interior designers, architects, product specifiers, builders, developers, hotel owners, and other design professionals, who are accredited to attend. Public weekend days welcome design enthusiasts and consumers looking to shop and source products for their homes.
Trade professionals register online through the show's registration portal for Friday–Sunday access, accredited seminars, and keynotes, while public visitors buy weekend tickets online. Opening Night Party tickets and combined packages are also available through the official website.
Your pass gives access to the show floor, free keynotes on two stages, and experiential features. Highlights include The District and Collect retail experiences, the future-focused Prototype and Studio North zones, accredited seminars, and Main Stage keynotes from leading designers.
IDS Vancouver partners with the Azur Legacy Collection Hotel for discounted attendee rates, and the downtown waterfront venue is near many downtown hotels. Secure parking is available at the Vancouver Convention Centre's West building, and Waterfront Station provides SkyTrain, SeaBus, and Canada Line airport connections nearby.
