The Liver Meeting - AASLD 2026

AASLD's annual meeting has grown dramatically since its founding. The Liver Meeting has grown in attendance from 12 to more than 9,500 physicians, surgeons, researchers and allied health professionals from around the world. More recently, the 2025 meeting in Washington, D.C. welcomed a large international audience, with organizers noting over 8,000 attendees at that event. Attendees span the full continuum of liver health, including clinicians, researchers, educators, advocates, and patients.

Registration is completed online through AASLD's official registration system. Attendee categories include Regular & International, Associate (allied health), Trainees, Students, and Patient Advocate/Patient/Caregiver, and pricing varies by category and membership status.

General in-person registration rates (non-member / special member price) include:

• Associate (allied health): $580 / $300
• Trainees: $580 / $300
• Students: $80 / $60
• Patient Advocate, Patient or Caregiver: $50

1. July 15 — AASLD member registration opens

Cancellation policy: registered attendees may cancel in writing before October 15, 2026 but incur a $50 administrative fee; cancellations on or after October 15, 2026 are non-refundable. Credit card payment (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) is required at registration, and cash is not accepted on-site.

The Liver Meeting is organized by the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD). AASLD was founded in 1950 by a group of leading liver specialists (including Hans Popper, Leon Schiff, Fred Hoffbauer, Cecil Watson, Jesse Bollman, and Sheila Sherlock) to bring together those who had contributed to the field of hepatology. Hepatology has been recognized as a discipline only in the last few decades, and AASLD played a seminal and unifying role in focusing interest on hepatological problems, as well as the founding of other hepatological societies.

The association's annual meeting has grown from a tiny gathering into a global event. The Liver Meeting has grown in attendance from 12 to more than 9,500 physicians, surgeons, researchers and allied health professionals from around the world. The meeting rotates among major U.S. convention cities; recent editions were held in Washington, D.C. (2025), and the 2026 meeting returns to Denver at the Colorado Convention Center.
