United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology - USCAP Annual Scientific Meeting 2027

USCAP is known as the largest gathering of M.D. pathologists in the world; a recent Vancouver edition attracted more than 4,700 attendees and 136 exhibitors spanning a 24,000 square foot show floor. At that meeting, 28 percent of attendees came from outside of North America, according to show officials. More broadly, the Annual Meeting attracts over 5,000 pathology professionals from 86 countries around the world. The event serves USCAP's membership, which is greater than 10,000 pathologists as the largest national division of the International Academy of Pathology.

Registration for the 2027 Annual Meeting had not yet opened at the time of research. The full schedule will be posted in advance of registration opening in the late fall.

For those presenting research, abstract submission is a separate process:

• The deadline for abstract submissions is September 24, 2026 at 11:00 AM Pacific/2:00 PM Eastern.
• There is a $50 non-refundable processing fee for each abstract submission.
• Notification of acceptance or rejection will be sent by e-mail in late October.
• All presenters for posters and platforms must be in Vancouver, BC, Canada; there are no virtual presentations.

USCAP traces its roots to the early 20th century. In 1906 Maude Abbott, James Carroll, and William MacCallum met at the Army Medical Museum in Washington, D.C. to form the first organizing committee to establish the International Association of Medical Museums (IAMM). One year later, the first documented meeting of the IAMM was held with prominent physicians from Canada, the United States, Germany, and the UK in attendance.

The organization has grown into the largest national division of the International Academy of Pathology, with membership greater than 10,000 pathologists, and it hosts several multi-day educational events throughout North America every year, including the USCAP Annual Meeting, the largest gathering of pathologist-scientists in the world. Recent meetings have been held in Boston, MA (114th Annual Meeting, 2025) and San Antonio, TX (115th Annual Meeting, 2026). The 2027 edition marks the 116th Annual Meeting.
