Western Canadian Crop Production Show 2027

The show grew rapidly in its early years, doubling in size to 80,000 sq ft by its third year and drawing some 7,000 visitors at that time. As far back as 1998, the show attracted enough visitors to generate an estimated $5 million in direct and immediate economic benefits to the City of Saskatoon. The event consistently draws sold-out crowds of prairie grain producers, exhibitors and presenters from across the prairie provinces and internationally.

Admission can be purchased online in advance or at the door during the event; prices are the same in person as online, and children 12 and under are admitted free.

How it works:

1. Buy tickets in advance online (via the show's Authentigate/Showpass store) or at the door.
2. After purchase, you receive an email with a mobile ticket and a unique QR code.
3. Bring the QR code to the door for scanning — from your phone, tablet, or a printed copy.

Walk-up tickets are available on-site during the three days of the show. Bulk admission passes are also available at reduced rates for companies (invoiced only for passes used), and ATMs are located inside the Main Foyer.

The Western Canadian Crop Production Show began in 1983, when Prairieland's then-agriculture manager, Michael Fleury, aimed to attract 75 exhibitors to a new show focused on every aspect of grain production. The response surpassed expectations, selling out the 40,000 sq ft Jubilee Building with 12 more companies on a cancellation list.

The show doubled in size to 80,000 sq ft by its third year, drawing some 7,000 visitors, and its growth prompted repeated expansion of Prairieland's facilities. By 1994 it had outgrown the buildings, prompting the enclosure of space between the Wheatland A and Wheatland B buildings to create a center hall; in 1997 a new trade center and Hall D increased capacity further. The old Jubilee building was later demolished and replaced with Hall E, adding 58,000 sq ft and bringing the complex's total trade show area to over 200,000 sq ft.

Other milestones: ag biotech companies made their first appearance in 1996; in 2005 the show moved from a Tuesday-to-Friday to a Monday-to-Thursday schedule; and on the advice of exhibitors it moved to a new 3-day format in 2024 to allow travel time for those coming longer distances. Now spanning over four decades, it remains a leader in the field of crop science and technology.
