The 2026 conference carries the theme "Power of Performance"—empowering growth and shaping financial, workforce, and risk management strategies.
Featured sessions announced for 2026 include: "Building Organizational Readiness for AI" and "Risky Business: Preparing for the Data Center Boom," both on September 15, 2026.
The conference draws public power professionals at the professional and management levels. It offers the opportunity to engage with more than 450 public power leaders in areas from accounting and human resources to IT and risk management.
Expo participation is table-top only and available exclusively through sponsorship. The only way to secure a spot in the Sponsor Showcase is through sponsorship, and all items must fit on a provided six-foot table with two chairs and a waste basket.

Registration rates:
Group discounts: Save money on each registration when your organization registers five or more people—the larger your group, the more you save. Per-person discounts range from $50 (5–9 registrants) up to $200 (25+), and must be submitted on the same order.
Cancellation policy: Registrants who cancel in writing on or before Monday, September 7, 2026 are entitled to a refund minus a $100 cancellation fee. Those who cancel after September 7 will not receive a refund, but attendee substitutions will be allowed.
The conference takes place September 13–16, 2026, at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter on the River Walk, 101 Bowie Street, San Antonio, TX 78205.
It is designed for public power utility employees at the professional and management levels—both newcomers and seasoned professionals—working in accounting and finance, human resources, rates and pricing, and risk management. The event connects more than 450 public power leaders.
Registering by July 31 costs $995 for members and $1,990 for non-members; registering by September 13 costs $1,095 for members and $2,090 for non-members. Preconference seminars are $395. You can register online through the APPA portal or by emailing Registration@PublicPower.org, and groups of five or more receive per-person discounts.
The APPA group rate at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter is $269 per night single/double, plus taxes and a San Antonio PID fee. The cut-off date to receive the group rate is Saturday, August 26, 2026, and the block may sell out earlier.
The expo is a table-top Sponsor Showcase, and the only way to secure a spot is through a sponsorship package purchased from the APPA Product Store. Packages range from $1,500 to $22,000 depending on level and membership status, with Advocate-level and higher packages including showcase display space.
