Functional Fabric Fair 2026

The Oregon Convention Center (OCC) is the largest convention center in the Pacific Northwest. It offers 255,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, around 50 meeting rooms, and two grand ballrooms (the Portland Ballroom at roughly 34,200 sq ft and the Oregon Ballroom at roughly 25,200 sq ft), along with full-service catering. The LEED® Platinum-certified venue is known for its twin glass spire towers and its strong sustainability program, diverting around 70% of event waste from landfills. A $40 million renovation completed in 2019 modernized public spaces and improved accessibility. The building is well known for housing a large Foucault pendulum and an extensive public art collection.

The Oregon Convention Center offers an underground parking garage with about 800 spaces across two levels (P1 and P2), accessible from the NE First Avenue (P1) or Lloyd Boulevard (P2) entrances, plus EV charging stations and bike and motorcycle spaces. Parking demand can be high on busy event days and the garage may fill in the morning, so arriving early is advised. In addition, there are hundreds of metered street spaces within a few blocks and several privately operated garages and lots nearby; some visitors reserve spots in advance via services like SpotHero. Note that some private lots advertise "convention center parking" but are not operated by the OCC.

The Oregon Convention Center sits about eight miles from Portland International Airport (PDX). The MAX Red Line connects PDX directly to the Convention Center MAX station at the venue's front door; the airport-to-downtown trip takes roughly 38 minutes. The station is served by the Red, Green and Blue MAX lines, with the Yellow Line stopping about two blocks away, and MAX trains typically run every 15 minutes from early morning until around midnight. The Portland Streetcar's A Loop and TriMet Bus Line 6 also stop right outside the main entrances. Drivers reach the OCC via I-5 North (Exit 302A–Rose Quarter) or I-84 West (Exit 1–Lloyd Boulevard). Taxis, shuttles and rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft operate widely throughout the city.

Official Functional Fabric Fair Fall 2026 hotel rooms are available at negotiated group rates through the show's official housing partner, Connections Housing. Rooms are limited and offered first-come, first-served, and the reservation deadline is October 1, 2026. Bookings must be made through the official housing company to secure the special rates — official hotels will not honor direct reservations at the group rate.

Hotels cluster in the Lloyd District immediately around the convention center and its MAX station, including the Hyatt Regency Portland at the Oregon Convention Center (the venue's headquarter hotel, with about 600 rooms), the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland (100 NE Multnomah Street), and a Courtyard by Marriott, among others. Additional options are available in downtown Portland, an easy MAX ride across the river.
