History
The GPA Midstream Association dates back to 1921, when it was established as the Association of Natural Gasoline Manufacturers, and is based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Its name changed in 1927 to the Natural Gasoline Association of America, then in 1961 to the Natural Gas Processors Association, and was shortened to the Gas Processors Association in 1974. In 2016, during the general session of its 95th annual convention in New Orleans, the association officially changed its name to GPA Midstream Association to more clearly identify the midstream industry role it had evolved into.
The association was founded to set technical standards for the industry, and since then its technical committees have developed and maintained industry standards and reference bulletins and published more than 200 research reports. Its annual GPA Midstream Convention has become the meeting place for midstream professionals from around the globe.
