TESOL English Language Expo 2027

TESOL 2027 is expected to draw a large international audience. TESOL's signature event brings together more than 2,500 ELT professionals from around the world. The convention is the annual flagship event of TESOL International Association, a professional community for English language teaching. TESOL has close to 9,000 members representing over 160 countries.

The event has a long history, with annual conventions dating back decades — the association's convention list records gatherings from as early as the 16th Annual Convention in Honolulu in 1982 through the 60th anniversary convention held in Salt Lake City in 2026. Over the years it has been hosted in major cities across the United States and Canada, including Long Beach (2025), Tampa (2024), Portland (2023), Pittsburgh (2022, hybrid) and Atlanta (2019). Houston previously hosted the 18th Annual Convention in 1984. Upcoming editions include Houston in 2027 (hosted by TexTESOL IV) and Charlotte, North Carolina in 2028 (4–8 April, hosted by Carolina TESOL).
