Open Compute Project - OCP Global Summit 2026

The Summit has grown into one of the largest open infrastructure events in the world. Attendance surged from 7,000 in 2024 to over 11,000 participants in 2025, reflecting strong worldwide interest in AI infrastructure. Earlier editions were considerably smaller—the 2018 event drew more than 3,300 attendees, its largest at the time. The audience is heavily weighted toward technical decision-makers: hardware architects, data center engineers, enterprise IT buyers, hyperscalers, and solution providers.

Registration is handled through the official OCP Summit website. For 2026, Pre-Sale Registration for members and sponsors opened first, with public registration opening July 18.

Prospective attendees should register early. OCP anticipates that tickets for the 2026 Global Summit may sell out in advance of the live event, and attendance may be limited to preserve the community experience; following the pre-sale member and sponsor period, remaining tickets are made available to the public, registration closes once maximum capacity is reached, and onsite registration may not be available.

The Summit is an in-person event, and all sessions are recorded and shared with the community after the show. For cancellations at the 2025 event, requests received prior to October 1 received a full refund, with no refunds given after that date—attendees should confirm the current year's policy at registration.

The Open Compute Project was founded to apply the benefits of open source and open collaboration to hardware and rapidly increase the pace of innovation in data centers, with founding partners including Goldman Sachs, Andy Bechtolsheim, Intel and Rackspace. Facebook launched the initiative on April 7, 2011, to share the custom-engineered technology in its first dedicated data center in Prineville, Oregon.

The Summit has grown dramatically since its start. At the first Summit in June 2011, there were 200 participants, one official member (Facebook), and exactly three technology contributions. The event was long held each spring in San Jose before expanding, and in 2020, just days before kickoff, OCP pivoted its Global Summit to a virtual event that was ultimately attended by more than 10,000 people. By 2025, in-person attendance had surpassed 11,000, cementing the Summit as a cornerstone event for the open hardware and AI infrastructure community.
